After reading some really big income reports of big bloggers for so long, I know, one couldn’t stop himself from creating a blog and there’s nothing wrong. But why do they fail and give up so early?
Surveys and analytics say, over 20,000 blogs are being set up each day on average. Out of all these, we see only few still stick and the others fail at blogging. Why?
Giving up after failure is not different from giving up because you failed.
For people, blogging is all about writing, writing and publishing, which is actually not. A blogger is not just a content producer, he has to manage the marketing, SEO, link building, social media and the list continue for so long that people sometimes (or mostly) fail at managing all these tasks. What more can be the reason for a failure? Of course, they are many others too.
Reason #1 – Content
Content is the king of a blog and it will always be.
What actually is a blog? If you pitch the process, writing content can be seen on top.
People need a reason to read your blog and that’s where the quality content comes in.
If you want to be successful, then you must have some good readership for your blog and readers would never like to read something that is nothing but a time waster.
Write something that is unique, interesting and useful. Get inspiration from other blogs never meant to skim the existing articles. Because, people who search for something online gets around hundreds of results. So, you must have a reason why people should stick to your blog.
Combine your ideas with a writing style to produce epic content.
Develop a unique writing style and see how magically it connects with readers.
Reason #2 – Consistency
Consistency is the key. Prepare a publishing schedule and do maintain it. Stick to it all the time whether you post thrice a week or once in two weeks, produce the BEST quality content.
When someone who loves your blog comes back, I bet, he’ll hate to see the same old post trending on top. Even Google hates such blogs with no happening. This is why you fail at blogging, again.
The best suggestion is to maintain a frequency. Neither post so less nor too much of content on your blog. Because, it doesn’t make sense when you post too much content for your blog which hardly gets any readers.
I’ve seen a lot of people who think producing content is their only task, being the only backend of your blog. Suppose, if you take two hours on average to write an article and you write three such articles of a day, limit it down. Instead of writing three articles a day, write a SINGLE article which worth a hundred shares and a thousand reads. And, focus more on taking it to even more and more eyes.
Reason #3 – Passion
Unless and until you are passionate about blogging, I doubt if you can achieve something. Because, you need passion which is not just limited to blogging. Whatever you do, let the passion be present.
When you have a dedicated passion towards blogging, hours of work and restless nights also seem to be interesting. Otherwise, you might be the most boring person you can ever see yourself.
I know, some inspirational personalities or income reports(or maybe both, together) really make us start a blog. But we soon fail at blogging. You see, such inspiration is just temporary. Build a passion towards the work and soon, you can realize the change.
Reason #4 – SEO
With search algorithm changes in recent years, Search Engine Optimization has become the most important part of every site that needs exposure.
You can soon establish your mark on search engines, if you can properly implement the best SEO tactics. Google loves blogs that has a good authority and you can get this when you have good backlinks from other established sites. Guest blogging is one such technique, which will get you more exposure, build quality backlinks and does help with SEO too.
There are some quality resources which will teach you SEO. Start learning SEO and optimize your blog for search engines. Because, organic traffic is such thing which will stay long with you and sends you quality traffic.
Reason #5 – Money
Of course, people can make millions from blogging. But, that doesn’t mean, you can simply get them to your account. Beneath every blogger’s income report, there are restless nights, days of work and few failure milestones which they have overcome. You can never actually make money if you blog for money and you WILL fail at blogging.

@ Calliope
Remember, even if you write about make-money-online tips and tricks, it is not so easy to do it in practicality. When you blog with passion, money follows your way. But when you blog with a greed for money, nothing except the biggest disasters meet you.
Reason #6 – Uniqueness
You fail because, you are just another blogger. There are thousands of blogs which write the same stereotype content on health tips. Start something unique with a cool new idea and present the content in a unique way.
Stand out with unique and creative posts and ideas. This can be the best possible way to go viral and get a huge readership.
Reason #7 – Patience
Blogging is not another way to get success overnight. It needs patience and years of work to build a brand for yourself. Only then – money, fame and offers pour in.
If you are expecting thousands of dollars in a few days, blogging isn’t your type. There are some other internet marketing methods, where you might be interested in.
If you stick to your blog for ages, you can be the next big daddy blogger and truly inspire a lot of other newbie bloggers.
These are the reasons why people fail at blogging? Do let me know, what difficulties did you face in taking your blog to the next levels.

These all must have tips, when it comes to blogging in order to overcome failure. Thanks

I agree with your reasons Koundeenya!
Many people get started with lots of enthusiasm but their journey doesn’t last long due to various reasons, many of which you mentioned above. I think what matters most is that you remain passionate about what you blog or write – you need to love what you do so that it’s not a burden for you. Sooner or later you begin enjoying what you do and that becomes part of your routine that you liked doing – isn’t it?
Yes indeed, having your own voice and being unique matters a lot, so does the content that you share, which should be more for the readers and what they like. But it’s ideal if it’s a blend of what you like as well with what they like, because then you enjoy it all the more. Speaking of myself, I’ve never thought about making money from my blog right from day one, though yes, I do have a few advts. up that sustain the blog as such. It’s been a passionate journey of sharing my knowledge and trying to help people for me.
Thanks for sharing.

+1 for that line – “Sooner or later you begin enjoying ……. and that becomes part of your routine.”
75% of newbie bloggers (whom I know) who’ve started blogging very recently did so because they too want to make money online. And, when they’ve finally found out the truth, they quit. I am so glad to hear that you love blogging as most of the other great bloggers do. It’s just a real feeling of sharing something for the readers. Feels great.
Thank you

Great post, some excellent points here, you do need passion to be successful at blogging, best to choose a niche you love, patience is definitely needed, successful blogs do not happen over night. There might have been one or two but as you say, many successful bloggers have had restless nights and lots of hard work to get where they are and where they wanted to be. It is very much worth it though.
Great points on money too, sometimes trying to blog for money only without giving service or advice to people will be a one way ticket to failure. Great post Koundeenya and I am sure you are a wicked guy with excellent dreams
Keep at it my friend.

Hello Andi,
Happy to see you here and I’m glad to hear from you.
Very nice point mentioned, choosing a niche is crucial. A topic of interest and passion will never let him leave or quit in the middle. This will definitely give enough spirit and inspiration to keep going. But unfortunately and ironically, even newbie bloggers today are starting blogs on “blogging tips” which sounds funny too. But that’s what I’ve seen

Koundeenya recently posted..7 Reasons Why People Fail At Blogging
Hey Koundeenya,
Definitely some great reasons why people quit. I think that a lot of people just aren’t consistent in their methods so they don’t get the results they had hoped for so they give up way too soon. To me it’s a learning process and with each new day we get closer and closer to achieving what we want.
I do hope that those who really are passionate about what they’re doing won’t let everything else get them down. It can be frustrating but at the same time, so very rewarding.
Thanks Koundeenya for sharing these and hopefully encouraging others not to give up.

Hi Koundeenya,
This is a great post!
You touch on many valid points that make people quit before they really hit the starting line with blogging.
I particularly love the line ‘When you blog with passion, money follows your way’ – for me that epitomises it. If you start with a passion and hunger then you’ve started on the right foot – the rest will follow – its abundantly obvious from the outset those who are in it because its what they love, over those who want to make a quick ‘buck’
I look forward to reading more posts from you!
Clair
Thank you, Clair.
It’s been a very busy week for me and so did I take this time to reply you.
And yes, I truly believe in that line because that worked with me, so well. Not just blogging, anything which we do with passion give us the sweetest fruits.
Regards

I’ve been a blogger for awhile now and recently gave up my other blog to start my new one to coincide with my website. I did this to try to help improve my SEO, but I must say I really suck at SEO and need to learn QUICK.
I have made a commitment to post twice a week – regardless – I still have no idea what I am going to write about for the end of the week, but it is a MUST DO type of thing if I want visitors to my blog.
Just now getting around to blog hopping – so much to do, so little time – as I am not a only a blogger but a website owner as well
Anyway, you are right on all points!

Koundeenya you have mentioned some of the genuine practical mistakes done usually. I also like to include another mistake which normally a newbie does, “not being active on Twitter/FB”.
Two things: Active social networking friends and great Content on his blog; can get him several responses via comments, share on each others walls, retweets, and most importantly RECOGNITION.
