6 Spectacular Ways To Get More Attention To Your Blog

“If you want to be famous and rich, you need more traffic and for that, you need to get more attention.”

Are you watching for some traffic generation strategies?

Well, first let people notice your blog and then, you can work on traffic building.

Once you start getting more attention from the readers, your fellow bloggers; you should obviously start getting more subscribers, loyal readers (or fans, in our terms) and so the traffic.

On this world-wide web, over six thousand blog posts are being published every minute. That’s definitely a lot.

But, how to be the one and stand out from the bunch?

That’s not so tough at all. Of course, it isn’t that easy too.

Before getting started, give a peep into some of the most popular blogs online; how do you think Copyblogger, Problogger, Seth’s Blog are getting such a vast amount of traffic and have successfully got tens of thousands of followers?

Because, they do things which we haven’t done yet.

Wait! We also have another advantage. Once you (your blog) become popular on the web, even sites like the Times or such will start following you and who knows if you get a link back from them?

So, how to get more attention to your blog (only quality visits)?

Be Generous to Your Readers

Be famous or not, you somehow get comments on your blog, don’t you? At least, from your co-bloggers.

I’ve seen too many blogs to mention, which never give a damn to the commentators. They get comment approval notifications and they simply approve them. Because, having a lot of comments on your blog posts is a sign of authority, isn’t it?

Well, not. Quality matters everywhere. If you browse through my blog, you can never find a single-lined comment. Because, I only give links to those who are genuine.

Let’s get back. When you get comments for your blog posts, don’t just ignore them. Spend some time in replying to all the comments. This creates a bond between you and the reader.

And, never ever forget to leave a comment back on the comment-author’s site. This will really help you. Trust me.

How do you think I got my guest article published on an authority blog?

So, always be genuine and generous with your comment-authors.

Be Unique

Unique about what? The design or the content?

Well, both of them matter. Yet, content, still is the king.

Have a unique writing style that attracts an audience. Because, after all, content is theend-product, a reader is looking for.

There are thousands of blog post on traffic generation strategies. Write something unique. You will obviously start getting more attention.

Moreover, the best possible way to kick start a blog is: publish at least ten killer posts on your blog, before launching it and do guest blogging. This will really boost your blog’s statistics.

Why am I always stepping out of the topic? *sigh*

Yes, start writing useful content. Not those boring stuff which, even readers got used to. Deliver something fresh, every time.

Write A Freemium Ebook

The best thing, this could be.

Write an awesome ebook which could help your readers and which, you can put it for sale and make money.

Make sure, it is too awesome to read.

Now, give it away for free, to your readers. This will definitely bring more attention to your blog.

There are many people who’re looking for some knowledge of things, so that they can also step into the field. This can be your chance to help them and win their loyal readership.

Tip: If you think your ebook is too much awesome and it should be put up for sale, offer it for free at least for the first week or so. Even this will not fail. You will of course get what you’ve been looking for. Yet, more quickly.

Currently, I am also working on my ebook- Just Write!, which will soon be available to download- FOR FREE!

Guest Post on Top Blogs

One can’t simply avoid guest blogging after having known how amazingly it works.

It brings you traffic, exposure to your blog, brings more exposure to YOU, optimizes your blog and what not!

Now, when you guest blog on a famous and popular blog of your niche, not only it increases your blog’s value, but gives you enough exposure in the blogosphere.

Earlier, when I’d published some really cool posts on my previous blog, what I got? Nothing.

Now, after getting my posts published on ProbloggingSuccess, FamousBloggers, ShoutMeLoud, BloggingTips and few other top-niche blogs, I am getting more attention to my blog. Each of my latest blog posts, is getting noticed. I love that.

So, focus on writing a guest post for a top-notch blog of your niche. You will be a star!

Interview A Famous Blogger

Seth’s recent interview is published on Copyblogger; Brian’s on SEObook.

When you get a chance to interview someone, do it immediately. This will help your readers in getting better knowledge, increases your following and traffic and you will definitely get some link-backs to your site.

Ask them questions (useful questions, I mean), experiences, take down their suggestions and advices, share it with your readers. That would be far better than a usual stereotype How-to post.

If you’re thinking, whom to interview; I’m free (Just kidding ;-) )

Pick The Best Use of Social Media

If I ask “are you on Facebook”, I know that would make no sense.

So, as you’re already active on Facebook, Twitter and all other time-wasting sites, use them for your site benefits too.

When you just got your guest post published on Problogger, where would you share? Of course, you can’t do it on your own blog. There comes the social media. There are a lot of people just like you out there. Engage with them and be active, all the time.

Just like me, if you love using Twitter more than Facebook, 80/20 rule will definitely work for you.

It is, if you tweet 20% about your site, be the remaining 80% about others. Share links to some interesting and useful articles  mentioning the actual author. This will build a network and you will soon know how badly you might want to have that.

Takeaway

I’ve been writing for the past one-and-half, just to help you. If you really find this helpful, spend at least a couple of minutes, just to let me know.

You are always welcome to share your views.

  1. Hello Koundeenya,

I couldn’t agree with you more. If we want to be famous then we have to be unique, different, we have to do things in our own way.

The best way to stand out in crowd is to do things that only you can do. Implement this and success is yours. Give your personal touch to everything you do, even if you copy someone then copy him in your own way. ;)

    Anyways, Quite interesting post.

I always love reading something, which is unique. I don’t care even if I’ve already read that somewhere. Writing style really matters a lot here. And, a personal touch, it’s like some added flavor which makes the perfect piece of article.

      Thanks for stopping by.

And, all the best for your blog. I always love reading your blogs.

  3. You touched upon the right ways to get attention to your blog Koundeenya!

I was nodding all along as I was reading through your post, as they were all so very true :) However, to be honest, I haven’t really followed some of these ways even though I know they are ALL important points. I think writing quality content is the key, which will really drive traffic to your blog, though we can’t neglect the other things you mentioned.

Guest posting is something I need to get started with, especially with so many people asking me to do so. I guess my hands remain rather full with lots of things, but there are no excuses for things that need to be done – isn’t it?

Similarly, writing an eBook is a long time overdue pending task again, though I’m glad you got down to it right away. I’m sure your book would be a real treasure and all related to writing – something worth reading. Yes, giving it away free initially works well, something that Jeff always goes by. :)

And being generous to your readers and those who visit your blog, and sharing the posts of others is something I’ve always believed in, which helps make relationships stronger and worthwhile. Nothing works better :)

Thanks for sharing this wonderful post with all of us. Have a nice weekend :)

Being generous is something which I’ve learnt from you and Adrienne. It really matters a lot.

Thanks for your comment and the tweet, like and the +1 too ;)

  4. Hi Koundeenya,

Thanks for sharing the information mate. You explained it well ,i think every point is very important. But i believe in making a base strong, So first thing i think every one should do is make a base strong.By base i mean , Quality work – content ,blog appearance ,reader comfort and very important thing uniqueness .
If you have to stand and want to be successful in blogging industry than you should be unique or different form others.I have seen a lot of bloggers they try to copy some big bloggers writing style and way of presenting ,that is very bad.
One should be unique if you want to be successful.

Guest blogging , taking interviews are the best way to attract more readers towards your blog.Than to hold and even increase more readers you can start giveaways that helps alot.

That’s true! Quality pays off. Everywhere. We must first focus on producing quality content rather than promoting. When we succeed in creating some unique articles, we can use guest blogging or other strategies to promote it more.

But, I always love guest blogging. In the last six months, the majority of my writings was published on guest blogs. That’s a great feeling.

      Thanks for your words

  5. You have raised somegood points here. I currently have an e-report for free on my blog and I am working on an e-book for sale. After reading this, you have given me the idea to offer it either for free or 50% discount to my subscribers, as a way of saying thankyou. I think this shows your subscribers that you care about them and would encourage them to continue with their subscription. Guest posting is another great idea you mentioned and one that I really need to work on!

    • Hello Catherine!

You should try guest posting on sites of your niche. I’m sure you’ll get awesome results.

Selling a premium ebook for subscribers with a discount creates a bond. This increases the engagement with your readers. Moreover, psychological studies say that when some product is made available with a higher discount percentage, sales increase. So I’m sure you’re gonna sell more copies of the ebook.

All the best for your ebook.

      Thank you

  8. This post’s full of good advice, Koundeenya – I’m on with some of it, but know I have a way to go in many areas. I haven’t had time to do any guest posting yet and I’ve never interviewed anyone – at the moment all the spare time I have is spent trying to complete my Freebie, so I can start building my list.

Thanks very much for these much-needed prompts!

  9. Hey Koundeenya,

Well, I was typing my comment and almost finished and your blog just went away. That was weird so where the heck was I.

Okay, all great points but I haven’t done them all. I do write a few guest posts but not for high PR ranking sites nor have I ever interviewed anyone. Personally, that’s not the direction I want to go with my blog but I see how it can benefit others.

I think that you just need to stay true to yourself, remain genuine in what you share, always read other people’s posts and comment and you’ll start getting the right traffic to your blog. People will stand up and take notice because you are being so generous by sharing other people’s content too.

You shared some great tips though, good job.

    ~Adrienne

    • Hello Adrienne!

Even I prefer guest posting on a site with good readership, rather than a high PR site. I look for loyal readers.

I just noticed. Reading and commenting on other blogs and commenting on their posts is now sending me traffic. The traffic I get from StumbleUpon and from other blogs (through comments) is almost equal :P

  10. Tweeted!

Brilliant points here. I have myself been a victim of long comments on good blogs going unnoticed, I hate that. I say all I want with deep conviction and add so much value and there’s no reply to it. I pity the blogger rather than myself.

An interview is on the cards, I’m putting it off for the time being so that I can do it, a few weeks before the launch of my ebook. Guest posts too. Hope all my plans click!

Design matters a lot, partly because of the use of Smartphones to read and browse blogs and so enough focus must be put into the blog’s design. The use of colors shrewdly too is a must!

Aditya recently posted..Do You Give Yourself a Second Chance? My Profile

    • Hey Aditya!

Yeah! Valuable comments getting unnoticed hurts. Bloggers should always engage with the readers. Or else, remove the comment section from their blogs.

And, yeah, what about your ebook? When will it be ready? Waiting for it. Finally, got to know about two ebooks from people I love reading to- you and Sue Neal!

      Thanks for the tweet

  11. I don’t have a clue of what kind of ebook to create, so that’s out of the picture for right now. However, how do you know what to ask for an interview? I never have interesting questions for those who want to be interviewed, even though I try to come up with some pretty crazy things. If I get serious with it, it’s like I’m in Newspaper Productions and Journalism and Yearbook all over again.

To find attention for my blog, I blog about what I KNOW. I think that’s important, too. Bloggers should take what they know and write about that, but they should write about it in a way that it is personalized and that it becomes their own.

I don’t think, finding a topic to write a book is tough. Something which bothered us when we were in the early days, can be the best. There are many people out there in the same condition, where you were once in.

It’s always better when we know the strategies to implement for our own blogs. It gives the best results and we cannot blame others for something wrong.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  12. HI Koundeenya,

    Great post!

You have vividly shared the key points for getting more attention to the blog. It doesn’t goes very well with me if the blog owner doesn’t take the onus of replying back to the comment.I’m afraid he is ignoring the fellow blogger by doing so and avoiding the engagement.

Since I’m a newbies in the blogosphere so the priorities are slightly different, I’m presently more focused on being different in one way or the other so far as the content goes, providing the different communication medium for the readers. I have certain basic things missing on my blog like contact page and list which I need to work on rather quickly.

Points are very well noted and are there on my wishlist.

Thanks a lot for sharing, and have a great week ahead.

Great sharing! You have included so many great points! I love the way that you apply the 80/20 rules to Twitter as well. For a long time, I felt bad seeing other bloggers’ easy re-tweet feature but I could not help to spread the word. Ever since I have opened my own Twitter account, I re-tweet others’ great blogs. Many friends are re-tweeting mine as well.

    Awesome!
